The Original Brief

The original timber gates were no longer fit for purpose. Their position and geometry reduced the available turning space within an already restricted cul-de-sac driveway, making vehicle access unnecessarily difficult.

The replacement therefore needed to do much more than improve the appearance of the entrance. The entire access arrangement had to be re-engineered, including the gate geometry, hinge positioning, motor profile, safety device placement, and overall vehicle turning path.
